Part II of the Guidelines contains practical suggestions to equip the user to apply the theoretical information provided in Part I to the actual planning, development, and implementation of development co-operation activities related to water.The Introduction to Part II consists of an overview of Part II; a description of Project Cycle Management (PCM), whose phases provide a time-line and project process framework in which to apply the strategic approach; and a description of EC development co-operation funding instruments.The rest of Part II consists of checklists of key issues and potential responses. These are grouped according to both the PCM phases and the Focus Areas identified in Part I and can be studied either with respect to the project phase or the focus area: -To examine checklists for all focus areas relevant to a particular PCM phase select PCM Phases. -To examine checklists for all PCM phases relevant to a particular focus area select Focus Areas. Each choice includes a section on How to use the Checklists.
