Economic growth in the Pacific region is expected to slow to 6.0% in 2012 from 7.0% in 2011, according to the latest Pacific Economic Monitor released today by ADB. The slowdown is driven by lower growth in large resource-exporting economies that dominate regional growth.

Nothing less than transformational change will be required to build societies in Asia and the Pacific that are resilient to climate change, Bindu Lohani, ADB Vice-President for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development, stressed today in his keynote speech at the Second Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum.
